Example 01 / 03
An assistant that can show where the answer came from.
With retrieval-augmented generation, often called RAG, the system searches for relevant content before the model writes an answer. The knowledge base can be approved documents, product data or an internal handbook.
Practical example
A support agent can ask about a warranty and get an answer that points to the right document. A team can find its way around product sheets without knowing the document name. Access control must limit which sources each person can use.
How it can be used
For an equipment supplier, the customer can ask which parts fit a specific model. The system finds the relevant product sheets, shows the source and asks for more information if the model number is missing. When there is no basis for an answer, it should say so and offer a human contact.
What we aim for
A faster starting point for finding information, with traceable sources instead of an answer with no grounding.
